NANTUCKET GUIDE
Discovering Nantucket: A Guide to Shopping, Dining, and Leisure
If you're exploring Nantucket during Nantucket by Design Week or simply planning a holiday getaway, there's an abundance of ways to experience all the island has to offer. Nantucket exudes charm and magic, with each visitor having their own personal favorites. As we commemorate our 27th summer on the island this year, here are some of my best recommendations for your visit...
QUICK BREAKFASTS & BRUNCH
Brant Point Grill | 50 Easton Street
Upscale hotel restaurant with harbor views.
The Green | 5 West Creek Road
Organic market with daily made fresh juices, smoothies & wraps.
Island Kitchen | 1 Chins Way
Popular mid island spot with a beautiful outdoor patio.
Local Coffe & Bakery Favorites:
I suggest grabbing a coffee or tea and walk the wharf downtown to check out all the boats and yachts in the harbor...
DINNER
Le Languedoc is a classic french bistro, one of the original old school island restaurants. We prefer the bistro room in the basement or eating in the garden if weather is permitting. It's great for their steak frites and fish dishes. My family always start with a chopped salad, sometimes a soufflé, and the clams! Dessert is the pot au chocolate or sweet inspirations, another old school favorite is the ships inn and straight wharf - both very good and table cloth dining...
Other notable favorites...
Both very good and table cloth dining.
Pi Pizzeria Nantucket
Our favorite pizza, but best eaten in the restaurant in my opinion. They do a very busy take out business as well but somehow to me it just doesn't taste as good at home!
Pizzeria Gemelle
If you're looking for individual small gourmet pizzas to take home...
Delicious pizza!
Mon - Sun: 11am -9pm
Nautilus is another favorite with Asian-inspired dishes, and its sister restaurant Gaslight Bar is always a good time. For the perfect sunset, pick up boiled lobsters from Sayles or some apps from 167 Raw, and head out to Cisco Beach to watch the sunset with your own BYOB for a memorable night!
BOOZY LUNCH SPOTS
Favorite spot overlooking the boats in the harbor: warm buttered lobster roll with a bottle of rosé, or oysters and some champagne. It has a great buzzy celebrity feeling, and Carlos and Jane make the perfect shots!
The closest thing we have to Club 55 in the South of France with lunch on the beach. 167 Raw now has a food truck with tacos and ceviche in the backyard, which is a great addition.
Ride your bike out to 'Sconset for lunch...
ARTS & MUSEUMS
A must see with lots of whaling history. The gift shop is a very good place to drop in as well.
(I like to stock up on Christmas stocking stuffers here.)
The AAN is a local nonprofit that works to celebrate and encourage the art community on the island. They put together incredible events throughout the year. Be sure to check out their full schedule online or follow them on Instagram for all the latest gallery events, openings and pop-ups all year long. Love to support local artists! @ackartists
SHOPPING
Elise Gura's Space Shop on Old South Wharf Atlantic on Federal for great home decor & clothing. @spacenantucket
Cute woman's boutique that is a half needle point shop and half contemporary clothing with great Heidi Weddendorf hand made pearl jewelry.
For hand made bells on leather straps, great for house warming presents...
